Making a decision

April 2nd, 2009 by hiren | No Comments | Filed in Learning

Today I got JVBlogger newsletter and it is about making decision
He writes:
Winston Churchill said:
“Fear is a reaction. Courage is a decision.”

This is very true if think about my experience in life. To make a decision it needs lot of courage to do it. Many times you make decision that are irrelevant and could not work according to others, but we know that it will work. And to make a decision to go ahead with our own instinct is very difficult.

“It is one of the great compensations in life that no one can help another without helping themselves.”
This is also very true but I was not using this fact in my life and trying to help others without helping myself. But I have realised it now and want to be in better position before I offer some help to others.
The same thing I learnt yesterday from a Banyan Tree. Its a different story that what why I learn from Banyan tree, but what I learn is more important.

Banyan tree is usually very old and strong, few of them alive for more than 2-300 years. Providing shelter to hundreds of birds, shadow and generating oxygen for us as well :)
But before it start helping others it made it self strong enough.

Therefore I have made a decision help myself first now.

Computer & Internet training for senior citizens

February 4th, 2009 by hiren | No Comments | Filed in Tutoring

Few days ago I had been to my friend’s clinic to fix their network and printer problem. They were messing with it for one day and finally he ranged me to come. I went there and fixed the problem in few minutes. Eveyone there was impressed :) and satisfied. Suddenly some one asked me if I can provide her a private IT training, so that she can do her work on computer more efficiently.

Suddenly an Idea came to my mind of starting IT training. I was thinking from last few days that what can I do that gives me more satisfaction and happiness. And the answer is sharing my knowledge. I thought about this for few more days and came to the end that I will start providing Computer & Internet training for senior citizens.

I have found that many elderly people still dont know how to use computer and internet. Few of these people know but they dont know how to use it for their day to day work or how to use it to stay them in contact with their friends, family and community. I know that councils provide them training courses. But I am thinking to start private one to one training. This way I can concentrate on their personal need and customize training content according to their needs.

Well I hope its a great Idea, I will write more about this later.

chancellor unveiled plans for record borrowing

November 25th, 2008 by hiren | No Comments | Filed in London, News, UK

No Chancellor has unveiled the taxing and borrowings for UK to bring it out of recession. I can read all different comments from opposing parties.

Governtment’s statements and strategies looks promising but the comments of experts and Mr Osborne are different and makes me confused about whats going on and how will it change the recession.

Following was published in the BBC news website.

Chancellor said VAT would be cut from 17.5% to 15% from next Monday for 13 months, to encourage spending.

To pay for that in future years Mr Darling said that from 2011 National Insurance would rise by 0.5% and there would be a new 45% tax rate for earnings above £150,000. There would also be a sharp slowdown in public spending growth.

The Conservatives are demanding a full parliamentary debate on the measures in the pre-Budget report.

They argue that, given its importance, it deserves the same level of scrutiny as a full Budget.

Mr Osborne told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “I think there was a big intake of breath by the nation when they realised what the bill for the last 10 years is and that we are all saddled with a truly huge debt.”

He also said: “They [the government] are taking a huge risk with the public finances.”

20 Reasons Why Alcohol Should Be Served At Work

November 23rd, 2008 by hiren | No Comments | Filed in Interesting

One of my friend sent it to me. Very Funny lol.

20 Reasons Why Alcohol Should Be Served At Work

1. It’s an incentive to show up.

2. It reduces stress.

3. It leads to more honest communications.

4. It reduces complaints about low pay.

5. It cuts down on time off because you can work with a hangover.

6. Employees tell management what they think, not what management wants to hear.

7. It helps save on heating costs in the winter.

8. It encourages carpooling.

9. Increased job satisfaction because if you have a bad job, you don’t care.

10. It eliminates vacations because people would rather come to work.

11. It makes fellow employees look better.

12. It makes the cafeteria food taste better.

13. Bosses are more likely to hand out raises when they are wasted.

14. Salary negotiations are a lot more profitable.

15. Suddenly, burping during a meeting isn’t so embarrassing.

16. Employees work later since there’s no longer a need to relax at the bar.

17. It makes everyone more open with their ideas.

18. Everyone agrees they work better after they’ve had a couple of drinks.

19. Eliminates the need for employees to get drunk on their lunch break.

20. It’s obviously a good idea ….
